Free Knitting Patterns: Dishcloths & Washcloths
A knitted dishcloth is a great first project for the beginning knitter. Dishclothes allow you to practice all the basic knitting steps and don't take long to work through. And when you are finished you have a useful kitchen sink accessory. There are dozens upon dozens of knitted dishclothes and washclothes, with many have unique and creative stitch patterns and fun motifs.
Simple Chevron Dishcloth
Intermediate. Stripes make this easy ripple pattern interesting. Part of the Knitted Kitchen Blog Hop 2017.
Puff Lace Washcloth
Intermediate. A gentle ripple pattern combines with eyelets and “puffs” of reverse stockinette stitch.

Beginner. The 4 stitch, 4 repeat pattern of this dish/washcloth creates a ripple and column effect.
Copycat Dishcloth
Beginner. This garter stitch dishcloth has two stockinette bands that mimic a traditional cloth.
Boxy Dishcloth
Beginner. This dishcloth uses a waffle stitch pattern and has slipped stitch borders making is square and flat.
Gauge: 2.5 stitches per inch or 10.0 stitches per 4 inches.
