Sweaters are typically one of the more advance knitting projects. Beginners would be better suited starting with a more simple project before undertaking a full sweater. When knitting a sweater, or any fitted garment for that matter, it's important to consider gauge.

Alice Pullover Sweater

Blaze
Intermediate. This modern aran sweater, knit totally in the round, has a unique seamless construction that requires minimal finishing. The body and sleeves are all knit in separate "tubes" and then joined together at the underarm with kitchener stitch and decreased at the neck
Gauge: 5.75 stitches per inch or 23.0 stitches per 4 inches.
